Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE United States Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) w/Vickie Guerrero vs. John Morrison vs. Alex Riley vs. Jack Swagger
Morrison is the first man to make his way out to the ring, and he gets a really nice pop from the crowd. Riley is the next man to come out, and he also gets a good pop from the crowd as well. Jack Swagger is the third man to make his way out, dropping down to the ground to do some pushups on his way out. The Champion, Dolph Ziggler, is the last man to make his way to the ring, being led by an impatient Vickie Guerrero.
The bell rings and all four men will be in at once for this one. Swagger and Morrison pair off and Ziggler and A-Ri pair off. Rlley takes out Ziggler with a clothesline before tossing him to the outside and turning to Swagger. Swagger takes Riley down with a big shoulder block and lays in with clubbing blows to the back. Riley slams Swagger down to the mat out of nowhere and gets a two count.
Riley leaps over the top rope to try and get Ziggler but Dolph moves and Riley crashes into the ring steps. Morrison surprises Swagger out of nowhere with a big kick to the head, but Ziggler breaks up the cover. Morrison hits a dropsault, sending Ziggler from the ring and pinning Swagger for two. Morrison charges Swagger but ends up being hip tossed over the top rope.
Ziggler and Swagger talk amongst each other for a bit, but then turn against one another. Swagger man handles Ziggler, tossing him to the outside. Riley is able to surprise Swagger, almost scoring the pin, but he can’t muster the three count. Morrison is also able to surprise Ziggler with a kick to the face, but Ziggler kicks out at two and responds with a rocker dropper that’s good for a two count of his own. Ziggler sends Morrison into the ropes but eats a quick upper cut. Morrison sits Ziggler on the top rope and follows up. Morrison goes for a superplex but Ziggler fights it off and Morrison ends up in a tree of woe. Riley leaps over Morrison into the corner, but ends up German suplexed out by Morrison, who falls to the mat. Swagger is in and he tosses Ziggler from the top, and Ziggler rolls to the outside. It’s down to Swagger and Riley in the ring.
Morrison is in the ring and he takes it to both Riley and Swagger, almost scoring the pin on Riley. Morrison pulls Riley toward the corner and goes for the starship pain, but Riley counters by getting his knees up. Morrison falls right into Ziggler’s clutches in the sleeper hold. Swagger locks Riley in the ankle lock. Morrison falls to the outside of the ring and Riley kicks Swagger away, knocking him into Ziggler who falls to the outside. Riley DDT’s Swagger and goes for the pin but he only gets a two count.
Swagger backs Riley into the corner before locking in the ankle lock again. Morrison goes for a springboard kick but Swagger ducks it and hits a gutwrench powerbomb. Ziggler tosses Swagger away and steals the pin and the three count.

OTTAWA, Ontario – When he broke away from his mentor The Miz to forge his own path months ago, Alex Riley made it abundantly clear to the WWE Universe that he would bow to the will of others no longer. It’s such determined attitude that all but guaranteed this confident young Superstar would one day seize championship glory – a seeming impossibility while he was in the employ of The Awesome One.
That day has arrived.
This Sunday at Night of Champions, A-Ry battles John Morrison, Jack Swagger and U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler in a Fatal 4-Way Match, one of the most chaotic encounters WWE has to offer. Speaking with WWE.com just moments after the bout was made official by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, Riley did little to downplay the importance of his U.S. Title opportunity. “I have one focus that night, and that’s winning the title,” Riley said. “I’m in there with three guys who have all held titles before. I never have. I don’t plan on leaving Night of Champions without it, and Buffalo, N.Y., is gonna go ‘A-Ry’ that night.”
The Prince of Parkour boasts multiple Intercontinental and WWE Tag Team Championship reigns, while Swagger and Ziggler each have World Heavyweight Title victories to their credit. However, given the tension between Ziggler and The All-American American over the managerial services of Vickie Guerrero, going up against two previous World Title holders doesn’t faze the former season two NXT Rookie.

Thanks to our loyal site visitor Charlie for sending in a picture of him, his son and Alex. He also was kind enough to send us a report on how his meeting with Alex went.
Have YOU met Alex? Do you have pictures and want to share your experiences with Alex-Riley.com? All you have to do is send us an email to admin@alex-riley.com and we’ll discuss the rest. Thanks to everyone that already donated and those who hopefully will in the future.
My 7 year old and I drove 2 hours from NYC to Hartford to meet Alex. Fan boy that I am, I wore my redskins jersey for Alex’s hometown team. Josh, like many boys his age, wants to be a WWE superstar; he did a 2 week freestyle wrestling camp in NYC this past summer, and will also do once a week after-school sessions.
Alex was very welcoming. Josh asked him if he’d be at Survivor Series, (we were lucky enough to get tix), Alex replied, “I sure hope so”. Josh told Alex that he wanted to be a wrestler, so Alex signed the autograph with the inscription, “see you in 11 years at Wrestlemania”.
My sister in law went to BC at the same time as Alex, and she was friendly with one of his Football teammates, Augie. I showed Alex a picture of her, he asked me how Augie was; I responded with, “I dunno”, but (duh!), I do know, Augie is playing for the New Orleans Saints.
Alex seemed to remember my sister in law from the German class they took at BC.
I think, (aside from my son’s joy at meeting Alex), my favorite moment was seeing the “Alex Riley Persona” disappear for that moment, as I could see him remembering that class in his undergrad days.
Celebrity is a tough thing for stars, they have their “public” selves and their “real-life” selves. For that split second, it was cool seeing his real life self remember a college classmate.
Josh and I had a good time, everyone there was nice, and it was well worth the drive, to see my little boy meet one of his heroes… THANKS Alex!
