U.S. champion Daniel Bryan beat The Miz (w/Alex Riley) to retain the U.S. Title. Before the match, Miz said today is the day for fans to appreciate him because he’s The Miz and he’s – no, no, no – the fans can’t say his catchphrase; we are remain silent and raise our hands if we want to talk. He’s The Miz and he’s awesome. During the match, Bryan won with a school boy roll-up after a near-collision between Miz and Riley on the ring apron.

Back from the break and out comes The Miz and Alex Riley. Miz says he has accomplished more in his career than anyone in the arena can dream of achieving in their entire life. Miz says no matter how superior he is, he’s not a miracle worker. Miz says he overcame hardship at Bragging Rights and lasted longer than any RAW Superstar but they still lost to SmackDown. Miz continues to put himself over.

Miz says he’s the poster boy for the new SmackDown vs. RAW 2011 and shows the cover on the big screen. Miz isn’t the centerpiece star but he’s on there. Miz says if THQ really wants to make money, they should do a cover like this and shows another that has three images of himself on it. He says Team RAW should have been made up of seven Miz’s. Miz blames his team, SmackDown and Rey Mysterio for the loss. Miz challenges Rey Mysterio to come to RAW next week. Miz says people watch RAW to see him because he’s The Miz and the only person on the RAW roster that say he’s awesome. Eve Torres’ music hits and out she comes to the ring.

Eve enters the ring and Miz says he knows she’s here to apologize on behalf of all the Divas. Miz rips on the way her hair looks and her taste in men. Eve says she isn’t apologizing for anything. Eve says Miz needs to worry about how everyone knows he’s nothing but a brainless, flash in the pan, uninspired, frog-faced loser. She threw in a bunch of other names before coming to frog-faced loser. Miz asks the fans if they think he’s a frog-faced loser and they do. Miz insults the Green Bay Packers and calls everyone losers as well. Eve interrupts Miz and says he’s the furthest thing from awesome we’ve seen and calls him ugly. Alex Riley interrupts and tells her to hush.

Riley rips into Eve and says he doesn’t speak Gucci or anything but the Team RAW guys aren’t here tonight because they’re tip-toeing to unemployment. Riley tells Eve to go back in the locker room and see if anyone wants a piece of The Miz. Eve goes to leave the ring when R-Truth’s music hits and out he comes. Truth raps his way to the ring and asks the crowd what’s up. Truth says he wants a piece of Miz and calls him Kermit. Truth says Eve told the truth and we all know the truth hurts. Truth says he doesn’t have a problem showing Miz that the truth hurts. The e-mail alert goes off and Cole steps up to the podium. “Ding ding ding” is all Cole says and we have a match.

Miz is backstage with Alex Riley, celebrating Bryan’s win and taking credit for his training. Sheamus comes in, laughing, asking who in their right mind would take orders from The Miz? Miz says that he’s the captain, not Sheamus. CM Punk comes in and says that Miz is barely Captain Crunch, and things begin to break down with everyone arguing. Santino comes in and calms everyone down, asking if there are snacks and beverages. Punk says they need to strategize, and he’s spent time on Smackdown recently, and he should be giving orders. Santino orders Sunchips. Sheamus gets in Miz’s face and says if anyone gets in his face, he’ll do something to them. Miz turns to Punk when everyone walks off, and says they need to unite tonight for the sake of Raw. Punk laughs and says only some of us are awesome. Riley complains about the team and says Miz needs to get it together. Miz says the team is exactly where it needs to be because where there’s chaos, there’s opportunity, and they’ll take down Team Smackdown.

Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown Elimination Tag Team Match
    - The Miz (captain), R-Truth, John Morrison, Santino Marella, Sheamus, CM Punk & Ezekiel Jackson vs. Big Show (captain), Rey Mysterio, Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio, Edge, Tyler Reks & Kofi Kingston w/Hornswoggle as the mascot

The Miz, the captain of Team Raw, makes his way out to the ring, with Alex Riley in tow. Miz gets a big of heat, but not much. CM Punk is out next, to much the same reaction, although he gets a bit more love from the crowd. John Morrison is out next, and he gets a lot of pops from the ladies in the crowd. Ezekiel Jackson is the next man out to the ring, to a pretty apathetic reaction. Santino Marella is the next man out for Team Raw, and he skips to the ring, much to the dismay of his team. R-Truth makes his way out, to his new song, but thankfully with no mic in his hand. And finally, Sheamus, the last member of the team, makes his way out.

As always please bear with me, as these huge multi-man matches are always a bit difficult to cover. Captain for Team Smackdown, the Big Show, is the first man out to the ring for his team, with his mascot Hornswoggle in tow. Rey Mysterio is out to the ring next to a lot of love from the crowd, in a pretty stark white getup. Jack Swagger is out third for his team, and he gets a bit of love from the crowd. Tyler Reks is out next, and he gets absolutely no reaction from the crowd. Kofi Kingston comes out fifth to a really nice reception from the arena. Alberto Del Rio is sixth for his team, and of course he’s announced by his personal ring announcer. The final man out for Smackdown is Edge, who gets a huge pop from this crowd.

    The start:

All fourteen men are in the ring, and everyone stares down everyone else. One side of the ring is red and the other side is solidly blue. Morrison and Reks look to start things out for their respective teams. They lock up and Reks is quick to back Morrison up into the corer where he hits a back elbow and kicks Morrison in the knee. Reks charges Morrison in the corner, but Morrison avoids it and comes back with a series of rights and lets. Morrison catches Reks with a kick to the knee of his own, but he walks right into a big shoulder blows. Reks drops the elbow on Morrison before trying for a shoulderbreaker. Morrison fights out and dropkicks Reks in the stomach, sending him into the corner. Morrison comes back with a big back heel kick and tags in Santino.

    Mid-match notes:

Santino immediately teases the cobra, but Reks hits Santino with a running forearm to prevent it. Reks hits a crazy reverse AA, or that’s what it looks like, and Santino is pinned for the three count.

    Santino is eliminated

Jackson makes his way into the ring, and physically dominates Reks for a bit, before Reks backs of and tags in Big Show. Show comes in and takes Jackson down with a huge clubbing blow, and a kick to the ribs, along with a huge chop to the chest.

Show dominates Jackson for a bit more before tagging in Mysterio, who comes in with a bit of explosiveness before tagging right out to Kingston. Kingston and Mysterio try to double team Jackson, but they’re double shoulder blocked for their trouble before Jackson drags Kingston to his corner and tags in Sheamus. Sheamus goes to work on Kingston’s shoulder and neck with a submission attempt. Kingston fights up to his feet and out of it, hitting Sheamus with a big kick and a top rope cross body that’s good for a two count.

Kofi hits a big leaping lariat and follows it up with a boom drop. Kofi ducks a clothesline and connects with the SOS on Sheamus that’s good for a two count. Kingston mounts Sheamus in the corner and wails away with a series of punches, but Sheamus fights out of it and hits the high cross, pinning Kingston for three.

    Kofi Kingston has been eliminated

Mysterio comes in and tries to work fast, but Sheamus plows over him and tags in Punk. Punk comes in with a couple of quick right hands, but Mysterio reverses a back suplex and kicks at the back of Punk’s leg. Punk hits a snap powerslam and tags right back out to Sheamus.

Sheamus comes in and takes Mysterio right down. As Mysterio tries to fight back, Del Rio tags in. Punk shoves Del Rio into Mysterio. Mysterio falls to the outside. Del Rio sends Punk to the outside, then sends him right back in, but before he goes back in, he throws Mysterio into the ringside barricade. Show yells at Del Rio and Mysterio looks to be heading to the back. Mysterio hits a beautiful German suplex that’s good for a two count on Punk. Del Rio tags out to Swagger who comes in with a big suplex on Punk.

Swagger plants Punk with another clothesline, before working over Punk’s shoulder’s and arms. Punk fights up to his feet and out of the hold with a kick to the side of the head, and he’s able to tag out to Morrison. Morrison comes in and begins beating down Swagger in the corner with rapid fire right hands. Morrison avoids a splash and comes right back with an enzugiri. Morrison misses a kick and almost falls victim to a near fall. Swagger goes for a suplex and almost has the same happen to him. Swagger is able to catch Morrison on his shoulder and slam him down to the mat.

Swagger tries for the ankle lock, but Morrison fights it off, and is able to hit starship pain. Morrison goes for the pin and gets three.

Reks is right in and he takes it to Morrison with a series of strikes, before locking in a modified rear choke. Reks switches it up to focus on Morrison’s arms, but Morrison fights it off and tags in Sheamus. Sheamus comes in and eats a big boot and clothesline from Reks. Sheamus is able to come right back with a big bicycle kick. Another pin, another elimination

Big Show is right in and he sends Sheamus to the outside. Sheamus attacks Hornswoggle. Big Show fights with Sheamus on the outside, and they’re eventually counted out.

Edge comes in and so does Truth. Edge hits a series of clotheslines, but Truth is quick to fight back with a big back heel kick and a clothesline of his own. Truth tries for an axe kick, but Edge avoids it, hits the spear, and goes for the pin.

Morrison is right in and he tries for the starship pain, but Edge avoids it, hits another spear, and eliminates another. Punk tries for the G2S, but Edge fights it off.

Edge tries for another spear, but he misses and Del Rio tags himself in. Punk is able to surprise him with a backslide out of nowhere, and he scores a three count.

Del Rio makes his way to the back, and while he does, he attacked by Rey Mysterio, who’s back in the match. Edge is able to score an enzugiri on Punk, and Punk tags out to Miz, who comes in and stops Edge from makes his own tag. Miz pounds on Edge before laying a boot into his chest. Miz distracts the ref so Jackson can kick Edge in the face. Miz tags out to Jackson, who hits Edge with a clubbing blow across the back before standing on his head, pushing it into the mat. Jackson slams Edge down into the mat before hitting a giant elbow drop that’s good for two.

Miz tags in and locks in a rear chin lock on Edge, trying to wear him down. Edge is able to fight back up to his feet, and out of the hold, but when Edge tries for an impaler, Miz counters with a neckbreaker combo. Edge tags out to Punk, who comes in and hits Edge with a series of kick, just being relentless. Punk sends Edge into the corner, but Edge avoids the high knee and counters with an electric chair drop.

Edge makes the tag and Mysterio comes in with a vengeance, scoring a kick to the head to Punk. Mysterio hits a springboard cross body, but Punk rolls through and gets a two count. Punk catches Mysterio in G2S position, but Mysterio fights out and he and Punk trade near falls for a bit. Mysterio sends Punk into the ropes and hits the 619, following up with a springboard splash, and scoring a three count.

Jackson is right in, taking advantage of an off guard Mysterio, and laying into him with punches and stomps. Jackston sends Mysterio into the corner, but charges into a couple of big boots. Jackson comes back with a nasty pounce, launching Mysterio across the ring. Jackson slams Mysterio into the corner.

Mysterio is able to get Jackson into the ropes, but when he tries for the 619, Jackson comes back with a shoulderblock. Mysterio is able to score a DDT. Mysterio gets Jackson into the ropes and hits the 619, following up with the springboard dive, which is botched pretty badly. Mysterio pins Jackson and Jackson is gone.

Miz comes in and attacks Mysterio right away. Mysterio goes for the 619, but Riley distracts him. Mysterio goes for it again, hitting it on both Miz and Riley, who’s trying to protect Miz. Springboard splash and Miz gets his knees up but it’s not enough. Miz tries for the SCF, but Mysterio fights out, tags Edge, and Edge hits the spear. Edge pins Miz, and that’s it for this one.

    Miz is eliminated

Winners: Team Smackdown, survived by Edge and Rey Mysterio

In the ring, Team Raw opposed Team Smackdown on opposite sides. It was weird to cut to the shot of all14 of them already in the ring. Teddy Long was in the ring with the Bragging Rights trophy and a microphone, detailing the match scheduled for Sunday. Long said that for the first time ever, he’s going to allow the wrestlers to make the matches tonight on Smackdown. Who made Orton vs. Kane then? He allowed The Miz to get the mic first and he predictably trash-talked Team Smackdown. He said he has already proved his superiority over Big Show, so tonight, he’ll be in six-man tag action, teaming with Ezekiel Jackson and Sheamus. Show had a mic and said Miz is hiding behind big men, just like he hid behind him when they were a tag team. Show asked Miz if he still wet the bed. Show countered with Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio as teammates to oppose the three-man Raw team.

Edge was next, and he said he wanted a one-on-one match. He called out the most sanctimonious superstar on either brand: C.M. Punk. John Morrison challenged someone who thought he was better than everyone, and who thinks he’s too good to be here. That would be Alberto Del Rio. Jack Swagger said it doesn’t leave a whole lot for him, so he’s choosing the Raw superstar whose finishing move is worse than the Sharpshooter (cheap heat). He challenged Santino Marella. Long seemed to sign off on all the matches, and wanted to start the show with the six-man match.

THE BIG SHOW & REY MYSTERIO & KOFI KINGSTON vs. THE MIZ & SHEAMUS & EZEKIEL JACKSON

This kind of takes the luster off of the seven-man match this Sunday, especially seeing some of these guys interact for the first time. Case in point, Sheamus started things off with Mysterio. Sheamus’ power got the best of Rey’s speed, at least early on. Mysterio tagged Kingston, who landed a springboard cross-body for a two-count. He kicked away at Sheamus, but Sheamus put him down soon after. Kingston low-bridged Sheamus, and Mysterio dropped a seated senton on him. They went to break about 2:30 into the match, with Sheamus still recovering on the outside.

Jackson was in there with Sheamus out of break, and Striker tried to talk about Jackson’s character. The Raw team isolated Kingston and made frequent tags to keep him from bringing a fresh man in. Kingston got close a couple times, and finally kicked Miz off to make the tag to Big Show. The match broke down with all six men getting involved not long after. Miz came off the top rope and right into a chokeslam. Rey climbed on Show’s shoulders and splashed Miz for the win.

    WINNER: Team Smackdown, at 8:38.

    EDGE vs. CM PUNK

Punk had Edge in a body-scissors upon return. Punk went flying, but Edge caught his springboard attempt and turned it into a bodyslam. Both men were down. They traded punches in the middle of the ring, broken up by a few kicks from Punk. He missed a head-shot and the two exchanged counters until Edge came out on top. Suplex attempt, but Punk pushed him away and got him up for a GTS. Edge-O-Match by Edge, but Punk kicked out literally, with a kick to Edge’s head. Grisham called Edge a “future Hall-of-Famer.” That’s probably true. Both men appeared frustrated that they couldn’t get the upper-hand to this point. Running knee in the corner by Punk, but Edge turned the bulldog into an Edgecution DDT for two. Edge climbed to the top turnbuckle, but Punk crotched him. He went up and tried to suplex Edge down, but Punk sent him to the mat. He climbed off the top and set up for the spear. Before he could hit it, The Miz and his flunkey, Alex Riley, came to the ring and pulled Edge out of it. They attacked him on the outside for the DQ.

WINNER: Edge, via DQ, at 13:16.

Kofi came out to attack and threw Riley out of the ring, but Miz gave him the Skull Crushing Finale. Each member of the two teams came out one-by-one and hit one of their pet moves on an opponent, until another person came out from the opposite team and took them out. Mysterio was the last one out, hitting the 619 on Sheamus until Punk came back and attacked him. Edge speared Punk, leaving Smackdown again with the upper-hand. The Smackdown team closed the segment with all of their arms raised in the ring.
