The Miz and Alex Riley walked out. Miz said Daniel Bryan has challenged him to a tag match tonight. He said Bryan is like someone who wins a lottery and thinks he’s going to win it every time because of it. Bryan interrupted with what Miz called his “Superman music.” He asked him who his partner was. Miz’s ex-partner, John Morrison, came out.

Bryan opened up with some karate kicks on Riley followed by a flying clothesline. After Morrison tagged in, the heels took over with rapid tags and isolating them in their corner. The fans taunted Miz with a chant of “You Tapped Out!” Cole insisted, “He did not tap out! It was a valiant effort by Miz.” Lawler said he was tapping like crazy. Morrison eventually rolled under Miz and hot-tagged Bryan back into the match. He knocked Riley off the ring apron and then gave Miz a nasty released German suplex. He scored a two count after a power dropkick into the corner. Miz elbowed Bryan, but Bryan countered with a Lebell Lock attempt. Miz escaped and shoved Bryan into Morrison on the ring apron, then gave him the Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

WINNERS: Miz & Riley in 4:00

Afterward, Miz decided to kick Bryan. Morrison made the save and tackled Miz to the floor. Bryan then dove through the ropes, aiming for Miz, but he his Morrison too. Bryan went after Miz with punches. Morrison yanked him off of Miz. Bryan gave Morrison an elbow to the head. Morrison got up and jumped Bryan. Bryan shoved Morrison over the ring barrier. Miz jumped Bryan from behind and got the advantage. Morrison then dove off the ring apron onto both. The G.M. chime sounded. Cole stepped up to the laptop and said he has decided that this Sunday at Hell in a Cell, for the first time ever, Bryan will defend the U.S. Title against both Miz and Morrison in a Triple Threat Submissions Count Anywhere match, which the G.M. said he “just made up.”

WWE United States Title Match: Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz

We go to the ring and out comes WWE’s United States Champion and Money in the Bank winner, The Miz. He has Alex Riley with him. Out next comes Daniel Bryan to a nice pop.

The bell rings and Bryan chases Miz around the ring before Miz steps into the ropes to stop Bryan’s advance. Miz kicks Bryan in the stomach before locking in a side head lock and taking Bryan over with a shoulder block. Bryan goes for a hip toss and Miz tries to reverse it, almost allowing Bryan to lock in the LaBell lock, but Miz is able to roll to the outside. When he comes back in, Bryan takes Miz right over with an arm drag, and a big leaping boot, that’s good for a near fall. Bryan focuses on Miz’s arm with an arm bar, but Miz turns it around, hanging Bryan’s arm up on the top rope. Miz locks in a hammer lock and slams him into the turnbuckle. Another hammer lock from Miz, and this time we get a belly to back drop that’s good for a near fall.

Miz tries to work over Bryan’s arms, wrenching away and pulling his arms straight back and away from his body. Bryan is able to fight up to his feet and out of the hold, going for a backslide that’s good for two. Miz comes right out of it with a kick to the shoulder and continues to work over Daniel’s arms. Miz distracts the ref and it allows Alex Riley to wrench away on Bryan’s arm as well. Miz hits a couple of elbow breakers before going back to work with a hammerlock. Bryan backflips out of it, but Miz responds with a big shoulderbreaker, that’s good for a two count.

Bryan rolls out to the apron, and Miz uses some pretty inventive offense to continue the work on the shoulder. Miz brings Bryan back into the ring and goes for the pin, but only gets a two count. Miz locks in an arm bar and Bryan is able to fight out of it. Bryan sidesteps a dive from Miz and Miz sails to the outside. Bryan follows Miz with a suicide dive through the ropes. Bryan rolls Miz back into the ring and hits a beautiful missile dropkick. Bryan hits a stiff kick to Miz’s chest that’s good for a near fall. Bryan goes for a leg submission, but Miz fights it off with a kick to the shoulder. Bryan comes right back with a beautiful high knee attack.

Miz and Bryan trade blows with Bryan getting the upper hand. Bryan ducks a right hand from Miz and lays into Miz with a series of kicks in the corner, before hitting a beautiful IED, a la Austin Aries. Danielson nails Miz with a stiff kick to the side of the head but it’s still not enough to keep the Miz down. Bryan takes Miz to the corner and puts him on the top turnbuckle, he goes up too, but Miz crothces him on the top rope and dives off with a big clothesline that takes Bryan off the ropes and down to the mat. Miz goes for a cover but only gets a two count.

Miz simply wrenches away on Bryan’s shoulder and arm, with his knee on Bryan’s head. Bryan is able to make it to the ropes to force a break. Miz stalks Bryan as he gets to his feet and he tries for the SCF, but Bryan counters it into a roll up for a two count. Bryan traps Miz’s arm and goes for the LaBell lock, but Riley jumps up to the apron. Bryan argues with Riley and Miz tries to attack, but he ends up running into Riley instead of Bryan. Bryan almost scores the win with a quick roll up, but Miz sends him to the outside. Bryan sidesteps Riley on the outside, sending him into the ring post, and he’s able to kick out of a small package from the Miz. Miz punches and kicks away at Bryan, forcing the ref to pull him away. When Miz goes back to Bryan, Bryan locks in the LaBell lock! The Miz taps and that’s it.

When it comes to WWE NXT, there will be rookies who have made enough of a mark in the eyes of World Wrestling Entertainment management who will still be kept and stick around, although they did not win the contest.

One of those superstars for Season Two appears to be “The Varsity Villian”, Alex Riley, who has been a mainstay on “The Worldwide Leader In Sports Entertainment’s” flagship telecast, WWE Monday Night RAW, following the season finale, in which “The Warrior” Kaval was victorious.

In recent weeks, Riley has been involved in the ongoing storyline between his NXT pro, “The Awesome One” The Miz, and his rookie from Season One of NXT, “The American Dragon” Daniel Bryan, which will culminate in a WWE United States Championship title match at the upcoming WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view event.

According to multiple online reports, Riley expected to remain on the WWE Monday Night RAW brand as a regular performer following the feud between Bryan and Miz, with talk of Riley feuding with Bryan following The Miz possibly moving into the main event WWE Championship title picture moving toward the end of this year.

Riley has the prototypical look for a top competitor in the promotion, mic skills to get over with the WWE Universe, and has showed some good things in a limited amount of time as a worker inside the squared circle.

World Wrestling Entertainment management appears to be extremely high on Riley, going back to his time in WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, where he was their FCW Champion at one point in time prior to the call for NXT Season Two.
